Doctoral position, requirements
The doctoral position requires that the applicant can be admitted to the doctoral program in Information Society. Both general and specific academic entry requirements must be met, see: http://dsv.su.se/en/research/postgrad/.
The doctoral position involves four years of full-time studies, leading to a doctoral degree in Information Society, Stockholm University. First year is financed by doctoral grant and three years by doctoral studentship. The position may involve admin/teaching duties up to 20% of full time; consequently, the position is prolonged with equivalent time. Good command of English is required.
The position is situated in the interdisciplinary environment of LX lab, with a focus on combining performing arts with new mobile and sensor technologies. The student will conduct ethnographic studies of novel dramatic performance experiences with civic participation.
Selection criteria
Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
Performance studies, computer and systems sciences, social science research methods, Human Computer Interaction;
Competence in interactive systems design, particularly mobile applications;
Ability to understand, critically appraise and apply complex models for uncertainty and imprecision;
Independence in analyzing and structuring previous work;
Ability to formulate research questions, and cogency, in previous work and research plan;
Ability to communicate and cooperate well with colleagues;
Methodological and scientific maturity;
Proven ability to adhere to prescribed timetables.
