Doctoral position, requirements
The doctoral position requires that the applicant can be admitted to the doctoral program in Computer and Systems Sciences. Both general and specific academic entry requirements must be met, see: http://dsv.su.se/en/research/postgrad/.
The doctoral position involves four years of full-time studies, leading to a doctoral degree in Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University. One year is financed by doctoral grant, three years by doctoral studentship. The position may involve admin/teaching duties up to 20% of full time, which gives that the position is prolonged corresponding to the time of admin/ teaching work. The doctoral position requires good English skills.
The position concerns the use of mobile devices 'in the wild'. Research methods include interviews, observation, conversation analysis, ethnomethodology, usability and laboratory based evaluation techniques.
Selection criteria
Understanding of methods of mobile app evaluation and design
Experience studying mobile devices using video methods
Familiarity and experience working with conversation analysis and ethnomethodology
Knowledge of the area of Human Computer Interaction, and the key research challenges in that area
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary research environment
Independence in analyzing and structuring previous work
Ability to formulate research questions, and cogency, in previous work and research plan
Ability to communicate and cooperate well with colleagues and researchers
Methodological and scientific maturity and
Proven ability to adhere to prescribed timetables.
