The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences is the largest departments at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University. DSV conducts research and education in the broad area of computer- and systems sciences with several different research- and educational specialisations. The department is located at the Kista campus and has 280 employees. http://www.dsv.su.se
The Mobile Life VINN Excellence Centre (www.mobilelifecentre.org) is located at DSV. The Mobile Life Centre is looking to hire three new post-doc researchers to lead and conduct research in Human Computer Interaction HCI and related fields. We seek proven researchers with an international reputation, a history of excellent research, and a sensitivity to both social and computing sciences. Three ideal candidates
1 Post-docs who have a research record in HCI, CSCW, Ubicomp or a related field, with skills in developing innovative research systems, studying the use of these systems in controlled and uncontrolled contexts, or conducting fundamental research into humans and technology
2 Post-docs from other parts of computer science who have an interest in working on design and human centred topics
3 We also invite applications from social sciences who can demonstrate experience in working with design and implementation of innovative systems
Candidates should have a PhD or are about to obtain one and a record of recent published research in top ranked conferences or journals
Employees will be based at the Mobile Life VINN Excellence Centre in Stockholm, a research centre formed in 2007 that has established itself as an internationally recognized research locus in the area of mobile and Internet of Things-research. The Centre?s competitive edge lies in focusing on the enjoyable and hedonic aspects of technology, and in working closely with our industrial partners - IKEA, Ericsson, Nokia, Microsoft Research, ABB, TeliaSonera, Movinto Fun, Rebel & Bird and Stockholm City
There are three current Mobile Life projects that candidates could work in:
The Future of Money: a project focusing on understanding how payment systems are changing and the design of new mobile money systems
Somaesthetics: studying and building for biofeedback loops and the display of emotional and bodily reactions
LiveNature: Investigating new hybrid video formats to support ways of experiencing remote contexts
