The section Boosting and Exhaust system, is responsible for boosting and exhaust aftertreatment systems within Engine Engineering department. This includes advanced engineering projects, concept work and industrialisation of products. Within the department the exhaust aftertreatment systems are developed both for diesel and gasoline engines. The group Exhaust Aftertreatment Petrol, 97672 has the system responsibility for developing exhaust aftertreatment systems for Volvo Cars' gasoline engines for emission legislation worldwide. We are responsible for the exhaust aftertreatment system solution determining substrate positioning, number, size, cell density and washcoat type and PGM loading. The group carry out work in advanced engineering projects and in the concept and the industrialisation phase. The group cooperates with neighbouring groups within engine engineering as well as purchasing, certification and the calibration group.

As Senior Analysis engineer within exhaust aftertreatment system for gasoline, you will be responsible for carrying out verification of emissions functionality, diagnostic capability and thermomechanical durability of coated substrates within the group's responsibility. Example of current projects are development of exhaust aftertreatment systems for three and four cylinder DI engines both in conventional powertrains and powertrains for PHEVs.

Main responsibilities

* Analysis of exhaust aftertreatment systems in vehicle testing of emission test cycles
* Development of the aging method for specific applications
* Development of test methods
* Planning and preparation of tests and test objects
* Definition of prerequisites for calibration strategies

Required qualifications

* MSc in mechanical or chemical engineering
* At least 5 years' experience within relevant area
* Theoretical and practical knowledge within the system area
* Good knowledge within engine control system, aftertreatment- / combustion system
* Driving license
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
