Application Technician

For our customer we are searching for an application technician (consultant).

The assignment includes documentation; ensuring operating status of the relevant systems, troubleshooting incoming application issues, communication with system responsible and development team and continuous work with improvements of operations and support processes.

Duties:
- Application Operation and Monitoring
- Coordinate and escalate issues relating to the area towards the Technical Service Responsible.
- Coordinate maintenance work within the area of responsibility
- Work with backup / restore procedures and tests
- Support the setup of technical environments
- Register and monitor tickets via Change management to infrastructure department
- Maintain dialogue with manager regarding infrastructure, operations and support issues
- Support in capacity planning
- Support in setup of alarms and monitoring
- Support the transfer of application operation to Operations
- Troubleshoot and manage several different applications

Preferred competence
- Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008/2012
- ITIL knowledge, specifically Incident and Change management
- Preferably experience in MSMQ and T-SQL, IIS 6/7, Server Performance and Alarm Monitoring, VMware, Script Management (PowerShell) and HP Service Manager
- Previous background in working with IT Support or in a Servicedesk
- Very good troubleshooting skills on Windows Server and Windows Applications
- Knowledge of network and infrastructure
- Experience in writing Knowledge Base articles
- You speak and write English fluently

Duration: 2014-01-31, with a possible extension.
