Area Sales Manager - Region EM&APAC

Region EM&APAC is a newly formed region and is responsible for marketing and sales of the complete range of Volvo Penta products including Parts and accessories via its importers within Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, Oceania, Pacific Basin and Asia. In ?Marketing & Sales, Marine and Industrial Power Systems? you will be working with some of the most interesting and inspiring countries, cultures and persons in the world.

As an Area Sales Manager at Region EM&APAC you will be responsible for marketing and sales in Africa. The role includes responsibility for all our engine products within marine and industrial power systems. You will develop emerging markets through development and establishment of private Volvo Penta Importers. Your main sales focus will be to drive our engine business with OEMs in the fields of electrical power generation, mobile off-road machinery, ship and boat building. At Region EM&APAC you will have three colleagues in marketing and sales in equivalent positions covering other geographical areas as well as one colleague responsible for development of new markets within Region EM&APAC.

Main areas of responsibility
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of long term strategies and short term goals, such as:
- Market strategies
- Marketing plan
- Customer relations
- Key customer management (when applicable)
- Importer development

Be responsible for the outcome of sales and budget for the industrial and marine business in your area including:
- Sales targets
- Market penetration
- Pricing & profit
- Direct expenses
- Capital tied up
- Continuous collection of market intelligence

- University degree in Engineering and/or Business administration
- A strong business acumen
- Sales experience from a business to business environment
- Knowledge about diesel engines & electronics
- Proven communication and networking skills
- Experience in working in an international environment and interest for different cultures
- Fully proficient in English - verbal and writing
- French, Arabic and Swedish languages are further qualifiers
- Strong general computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel
