Due to an increase in the technological diversification of our product offering, new markets, new powertrain customers and increasing legislative demands from existing markets, a unique opportunity has arisen to join Scania to develop as an expert in the area of diagnostics. You will enter our team at the beginning of an intriguing journey, working alongside our current diagnostics expert, to help strengthen us in a key knowledge area essential for our business. The Engine Control System Management section is responsible for the system integration and complete delivery to market of the application software within the engine and aftertreatment systems. Within this section lies the Engine System Diagnostics group, responsible for requirements setting, central functionality and certification of the engine control system diagnostics. We participate in all powertrain projects regardless if they relate to diesel, non-fossil fuels or electrification and we achieve our responsibilities through;


• interpretation of legal requirements and standards
• ownership of the central framework for diagnostic functionality
• moderating the competence groups for diagnostics, diagnostic framework and service diagnostics
• coaching the organisation in all diagnostic related questions
• driving the successful diagnostic certification of all products

Your duties


• Interpret, analyse and provide technical strategies for the implementation of diagnostics based on the relevant legal requirements, standards and Scania business goals
• Undertake technology and solution roadmaps in regards to development of new engine, aftertreatment and control system generations
• Discuss technical solutions with authorities and manufacturers associations
• Support control system developers in the formation of diagnostic tests and certification engineers in their work. This you undertake through coaching, teaching and partaking in work on both a strategic and operative level
• Drive strategies for documentation and information presentation through development of guidelines and spreading competency coupled to diagnostic demonstrations
• A natural part of the work will be to continuously improve tools and processes

You will work closely with colleagues within the group which is broad in their area of responsibility while maintaining a depth of knowledge and competency. This is enabled by the groups’ enormous enthusiasm for development, both professionally and as individuals, coupled together with our cohesion and diversity.

Your profile


• A degree in engineering, or equivalent documented education/experience in software development for embedded systems within powertrain development
• In your work you are structured, quality conscious with an aptitude for sound critical thinking. As a colleague you are positive with good communication skills. As a coach you are able to create contact networks far beyond your own sphere and shoulder responsibility easily.
• It is advantageous to have knowledge and/or prior experience of engine technology, diagnostics, Lean development, legal requirements (incl. EU, CARB/EPA) and certification.
• You can express yourself both verbally and in writing in English. The ability to speak Swedish or the willingness to learn are advantageous.
