Assistant Environmental Coordinator

The Nordic & Baltic Area, with headquarters in Gothenburg, consists of 7 countries and 4 main business activities.Maersk Nordic & Baltic Environmental Department is an internal as well as external resource regarding environmental activities within the Area.The department takes care of our Environmental Management System (EMS), develop and maintain environmental activities close to our clients, especially Key Clients, and are in close cooperation with Centre Health - Safety & Environment functions.The field of environmental and social aspects is in great progress and has full attention from the majority of our major clients.Our TOP -management, as well as the Company, are committed to the process and places high priority on environmental considerations in managing our business.As both of the departments co-workers for the moment do not work fulltime, we are now looking for a new team member for a substitute position during 12 months.The main work tasks will be related to the roll out of the EMS to the whole Nordic & Baltic Area.The system is implemented in Sweden and will be implemented in the full Area during 2007, all companies.This will include education of staff, adjustments of the system to cope with local conditions as well as project start up/ follow up/ EMS audits at all sites in the Area. Among the qualities the successful candidate will demonstrate are, a good knowledge of English and the ability to teach, be able to formulate instructions in an easy understandable format, possess a high degree of computer knowledge, be flexible and be able to work as a strong team player as well as a confident individual.
