Automation Engineer

Sydvaranger Gruve AS was formed in 2007 for the
purpose of refurbishing idled mining assets and re-establishing mining and mineral processing operations to produce a high quality magnetite iron ore concentrate at its facilities near Kirkenes in northern Norway.

Sydvaranger Gruve AS is the wholly owned Norwegian subsidiary of Northern Iron Ltd, a public company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange which has the Tschudi Shipping Group as its majority shareholder

Pr June 2010 approximately 320 are employed in the company. In addition, contractor expertise and competence.

Brief Job Description:
. Ensure all activities within the mineral processing operation are completed in line with OH&S policies and procedures.
. Coach, mentor and train metallurgical team and process plant operators in the plant function and optimization.
. Monitor and review plant performance.
. Responsible for coordinating a variety of quality and productivity improvement projects.
. Responsible for the metallurgical accounting systems and information integrity.
. Responsible for managing plant physicals budget and production forecasting
. Responsible for the technical liaison between mining, geology and processing operations.
. Responsible for management of laboratory contract

Reporting to: Processing & Rail Manager

Educational Qualification:
. Degree in Metallurgy or related science discipline

Work Experience and Skills required:
. Must be able to demonstrate a history of safety awareness in the workplace, through active participation in OH&S work practices.
. 5 to 10 years experience in mineral processing.
. Experience in Magnetite processing highly regarded.
. MS Excel & MS Word competency essential.
. Must have excellent Norwegian/Swedish or English language skills.
