As a Better Homes Leader you lead the creation of home furnishing solutions with focus on activities around lounging and storing within BA Living Room and collaborate with other HFBs for the completeness. You work closely with the Product Design Developers, Range Design Leaders as well as Marketing & Communication Leaders.

We are therefore looking for a person with a high level of home furnishing competence and the capability of creating coordinated solutions, from the start as well as adding to existing solutions, utilizing the IKEA styles and CMFs as a base. You are creative, knows what good looks like, can inspire and visualize, as well as organize your own time and schedule as well. You are excellent at communicating the range to different stakeholders across IKEA; within IoS, for media & communication purposes, towards Retail etc. In addition, you have competence in colour, materials and IKEA style groups. And most importantly, you have a strong feeling for what people LOVE around the globe and the desire to inspire people around you.

As a Better Homes Leader you will:
Identify opportunities based on life at home activities and work across BAs to create range coordination recipes to serve as the foundation for communication and media briefing.​
Facilitate coordination across different Home Furnishing Businesses for the Business Plan Calendar work
Create coordination and style guides to visualize and communicate the range offer towards internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to the development of material expression guides within Range and Product Development 
Support other roles with a high level of home furnishing competence
Support and advice in matters covering style coordination, home-furnishing knowledge, consumer needs and long-term priorities
Support Product Design Developer and Range Design Leader in identifying range gaps and new opportunities
Gather insights in Life at Home and Home furnishing trends to share with the range team
Qualifications

The Better Homes Leader is a position that requires deep knowledge of the IKEA range, home furnishing & interior design, global market home furnishings and social demographics. To be successful in this role, we believe that you have a broad understanding of the IKEA media landscape and what works best in each media. You have senior interior design experience from work on a global or national level with a commercial perspective. We think you have a degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design or Fine/Applied arts or working experience of the same value.

As a person, you are the go-to person of the team. You should have the ability to build good and strong relations with people, creating a positive and creative working environment based on the IKEA values: You are organized and a self-starter and ensure that your deadlines are met. You are also a great team player enjoying connecting and collaborating with others.
Passion & knowledge about life at home and customer needs
An eye for styles, design, aesthetically combining materials, colour, form, function and price
Able to form your own opinions and be firm with them
Structured and well-organized
Able to work under pressure and with many tasks ongoing simultaneously
Great communication skills (visual, verbal & written) and networking capabilities
Ability to lead without formal mandate
Independent and proactive
Knowledge about how to set a visual direction, identifying “the next thing”
Knowledge and experience in using digital tools like the DPD tool would be nice to have
