We are looking for a Brake Testing Analysis Engineer with testing experience or NVH (noise vibration and harshness) background to join the Longitudinal Dynamics Team within Engineering at Volvo Cars. 

The Longitudinal Dynamics Team is part of the Driving Experience department within Engineering at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg. The Driving Experience department supports the strategic direction of “For life. Freedom to move in a Personal, Sustainable and Safe way.” We organise competence in dynamic attributes such as vehicle dynamics, drivability, charging performance, braking, body structure dynamics, road noise, wind noise, propulsion NVH, climate & thermal NVH, solidity, component NVH and active sound experience. In close collaboration with the design and release teams we take responsibility for a great driving experience for our end users. 

You will get the opportunity to be involved in all project phases, from Advanced Engineering to production start, and with field and quality issues, contributing with analysis and guidelines to improve our attributes in our cars. You will get a varying role where you work with both testing in our brake dyno as well as performing complete vehicle testing and program management. We can offer state-of-the-art equipment and test facilities and the opportunity to build an extensive network with other internal design areas, suppliers, and our development center in Shanghai.

What you’ll do 
As Brake Testing Analysis Engineer, you will support the delivery of Braking Attributes with a focus on brake noise. You will plan, perform, analyze, and report test results from dyno and complete vehicle testing during concept, prototype and industrialization verification phases. You will support in the requirement setting, communicate analysis results and support the design work from a brake noise perspective. You will also work closely with the brake design department to understand and give technical input in early concepts phases. You will participate in the development of improved or new methods and measurement capabilities. Some of your responsibilities will be to lead assignments dependent on your experience and knowledge. 

What you'll bring
We would like to see that you have a BSc or MSc in mechanical engineering, technical acoustics, engineering physics or similar and that you have an understanding of complete vehicle testing or NVH. Background or interest in python or excel coding as well as vehicle communication and SW-update skills are a plus.

Understanding of the importance of brake noise in the overall refinement of electric and autonomous vehicles will be highly valued. Beneficial is also hands-on experience working on vehicles, measurement systems and test planning.

On a personal level, you are a curious, outspoken and brave person known for your ability to synthesize data, transforming complex analysis into simple and effective recommendations. You are customer-focused and results-oriented with a sense of timing. You possess good interpersonal and communication skills and are comfortable to present and discuss results at different fora and levels. You are a team player with a sense of accountability, also comfortable working independently.

Required qualifications:
•    BSc or MSc within related engineering areas.
•    Ability to both work hands-on in vehicle and plan, perform, analysis and reports testing.
•    Driver’s license, Swedish B-level.
•    Experience from complete vehicle testing or other relevant work experience with NVH is meritorious. 
•    Fluent in English, written and spoken.
