Business Analyst

Are you a Business Analyst with a background in application development? Are you interested in working in a global manufacturing industry environment? Volvo IT needs to strengthen the team of Business Analysts with focus on industrial IT solutions within Volvo. We develop global applications that are used at many different factories throughout Volvo. Our solutions are highly integrated with the shop-floor in the factory as well as with the industrial workers day to day activities. You will work as a Business Analyst participating in one or more teams during the project lifecycle. As a Business Analyst you facilitate modeling ? in close partnership with our clients, where operational expertise is an important component in the work. You describe workflow and high-level requirements for IT solutions to support the business processes and define interaction between the business workers and the IT solution. As a Business Analyst you also perform cost and benefit analysis for any suggested changes and ensure that the solution developed comply with given specifications and customer quality requirements. The job involves both international and external contacts and a certain amount of travel. Qualifications * University degree * Good knowledge of business process management and process reengineering * Good knowledge of requirements management methods * Understanding of market and business opportunities * Experience from industrial processes and applications * Experience in application development, deployment and delivery * Excellent command of written and spoken Swedish and English Key responsibilities * Understands customer and user requirements, their strategies, and their goals * Facilitates modelling and analysis of the customer organisation in terms of objectives, business processes and operations * Understands the relation between business and IT requirements and suggests solutions * Describes the workflow and the high-level requirements for IT solutions to support the business processes * Proposes changes in business processes, IT implementations and operations * Performs a cost/benefit analysis for any suggested changes in the customer organisation * Identifies new functionality and depending on role level provides support to Account managers and others who market and sell the end-product of the project * Drives assignments, understands complex issues and points out opportunities and risks * Responsible for ensuring that the developed solution complies with given specifications and customer quality requirements * Authorized to make commitments within the tasks concerning business process definitions * Authorised to suggest alternative solutions and point out deficiencies related to quality requirements in projects to project managers when necessary
