Business Intelligence Developer

THE POSITION


The NENT Data Science department supplies the data intelligence that enables our company to reach millions of people every day through streaming services, TV and radio networks and production companies. We harvest, process, and analyze massive amounts of mission critical data everyday, which then fuels everything from machine learning-based recommendation systems to business-facing data analytics that help make dynamic customer experiences.



As an analytically-minded Business Intelligence Developer in the Data Relations team within the Data Science department, we need your help to democratize data in a Nordic company with global reach. Using the rich data in our data lake, you will have the opportunity to empower analysts and decision makers to answer tough, meaningful questions.



Part of the job is to show what is possible by developing deeply insightful, dazzling reports and dashboards in Tableau that are embedded in our decision making processes and give teams the intelligence to make smart choices. Just as important is the need to teach others to fish - the idea that the most data-driven culture is one that is self-sustaining. To do this, you will co-build visualizations to spread knowledge and serve as a technical thought leader that trains others in the art and science of performing sophisticated analytics. You will also make sure the look & feel as well as performance of our products meets a professional standard that drives data habits.

THE CHALLENGE AHEAD


The media industry as a whole is changing, largely due to changing demands from our customers. For us, this means that we always have to be focused but never afraid to change our focus when needed. This creates a varying and challenging workday.


•      Work with really large data sets covering data on customers and their viewing for our consumer brands such as Viaplay and Viafree.
•      Assist the integration team in optimising for best performance and functionality with the data output from our Hadoop cluster.
•      Accelerate data driven decision-making in a pan-Nordic entertainment service.
•      Create new ways of working with data. Nothing we do, or how we do it is carved in stone, which means that you will have the opportunity to influence going forward


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


We are looking for someone with experience in Business Intelligence front-end development. You understand the pros and cons of various data warehouse architectures, can query and make complex table joins using TABLEAU. 



You have worked with the entire Business Intelligence value chain, from raw data in the source system to the final analysis, and can link data insights to business impact. Working knowledge of architecture and hygiene of data processing is critical for enabling other teams. We expect your strengths to be on the front-end side with a good sense of look-and-feel when designing reports and dashboards. You have strong communication skills in English and Swedish and are a team player.


• Solid work life experience working as a Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst
• Well versed in querying and data modeling, working with SQL
• Experience working with data visualisation tools such as Tablaue, PowerBI or QlikSense
• A good attitude, sense of humor, and ability to work humbly with others in a creative team environment
