The Purchasing Department Raw Material and Fastener is responsible for purchase of direct material and purchase direct material to all the manufacturing plants in Volvo Car Group and belongs to Car Purchasing. The vacant position is within the raw material area Steel and Aluminium.

In this temporary position as a Buyer you and your two co-workers will in close collaboration be responsible for all commercial activities regarding the sourcing. Within our group we work cross functional with Engineering and our plants, ensuring that quality, cost and timing requirements critical to our everyday operations is secured and handled in a professional way. We also develop the supply base management strategy as well as maintain good supplier relationship. The position will give you a good knowledge about sourcing at Volvo Car Group as well internal and external contacts within our company.

Main responsibilities

* Assist in making agreements for Steel and Aluminium buy
* Co-operate in cross functional teams towards R&D and Manufacturing to get good synergies
* Administration work (e.g. transactions, updating price files, reporting of performance, resolving supplier/company issues)
* Act on design changes within the project following relevant procedures
* Participate in Global Commodity Team's commercial activities
* Follow the Sourcing Strategies on assigned global commodities
* Establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business

Required qualifications

* University degree in business or technology similar
* Fluent in English (spoken and written)
* Commercial experience from the automotive industry is meritorious
* Technical knowledge/experience/interest is desired
