CAE Engineer Safety

We currently have a job opening within the CAE Safety with placement in Gothenburg. As a CAE engineer working with safety simulations you will evaluate and optimize the vehicle structure and interior safety systems in different crash scenarios. Systems like body structure, chassis structure, airbags and seats are important to protect the occupant in case of a crash. Your task is to develop and optimize how these systems work together and to communicate with both the Safety attribute and design teams at CEVT to have their systems and components behave in the best possible way. Part of the work will also involve correlation work between the virtual crash models and real physical crash tests. The goal is to develop high fidelity crash models that predicts the physical crash test behaviour well. The main tools that are used in the daily work are ANSA, Oasys Primer, LS-DYNA and µETA. CEVT is using CAE as an integrated part of product development and verification. Typical work tasks for a CAE engineer is to develop CAE models, conduct simulations, analyse the results and give proposals to improve the design. The work is done in close cooperation with design engineers and performance attribute engineers. Working as a CAE engineer means utilizing state-of-the art simulation technology and technical understanding together with engineering creativity to solve complicated issues, as well as further advancing the simulation capabilities and enhancing the team effectivity and output. CEVT has a centralized CAE-team with subgroups for Safety, NVH, Energy, Body/Exterior, Interior, Chassis/Powertrain and Tools/Methods. The CAE team is located in both Gothenburg and Hangzhou and the employees of both locations are working closely together.

Responsibilities and tasks
• Build FE models, assemble subsystem and vehicle FE models
• Submit safety simulations and analyse results
• Propose and verify design changes
• Communicate results and design development proposals with attribute engineers and design engineers
• Cooperate with the team members that are located in our Chinese office in Hangzhou
• Contribute to develop safety CAE-team efficiency

Profile and Background
• M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar
• Experience of LS-DYNA, Ansa and Meta
• Experience from similar work tasks within the automotive area
• Experience from or interest in performing and driving advanced simulations and analysis
• Ability and interest to work in cross-functional teams and international teams
• Good presentation skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Basic knowledge in Swedish
• Knowledge in Chinese (Mandarin) is a merit
