DUTIES: The incumbent performs a combination of journeyman level and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment. The duties include maintenance of structures and associated equipment of the chancery and residential quarters through carpentry work. Performs a variety of tasks but with the main focus on fine carpentry such as furniture restorations and repair and construction of furniture, cabinets and shelves. The incumbent undertakes other additional duties as assigned by supervisor, including but not limited to working as a lock smith, painting, plumbing, snow removal, yard work, furniture moving, and
auditorium set up.

.Maintains structures and associated equipment of the chancery building and
residential quarters. Performs a variety of tasks but with the main focus on heavy Carpentry, such as construction of walls, relocation of doors and
reconfiguration of office space. 40 %
Incumbent will perform work in the following areas at the Chancery,
U.S.G-owned properties and leased residences:
a)Plumbing: Performs simple plumbing repairs such as repairing kitchen
faucets and unclogging pipes. Assesses more difficult plumbing problems and takes corrective action through local plumbing repair companies to ensure plumbing problem is corrected. 10 %
b)Fire safety Inspection: Installs and inspects both fire extinguishers and
smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

c) Security upgrades of residential properties: installs door and window
locks, grill work and door viewers.

d) Undertakes other additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
.Completion of elementary school is required.
.Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman skill, or equivalent experience is a plus.
.Prior work experience is a plus.
.The applicant must have a valid driver's license.
.The position requires acceptable spoken English and Swedish.
