PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Our Transport task is to deliver the IKEA product range, under good conditions, with a high and reliable delivery performance at lowest total Supply Chain cost to customer?s home or pick up points.
The Strategic Purchase Support, with responsibility for the DS Area, will minimize the transport costs for IKEA whilst fulfilling defined service levels through securing capacity, operational excellence and sustainability by ensuring that IKEA has the best and most suitable Carrier for Customer Delivery.
In this role you will be responsible for following:
? Support the global business development of CD Transport
? Identify market potentials and create market intelligence within the DS Area
? Creating good relations with a number of potential Transport Service Providers
? Develop preconditions for a purchase to succeed through a broad networking within IKEA and with external partners
? Support/participate to larger purchases through coordination of the purchase process and lead smaller purchases with a dedicated project team
? Identify improvements areas within the Operational process, IT-landscape, Contract package
? Identify key success factors within our service set-up
? Support implementation of new working methods, systems and contracts

Sounds interesting? We are looking for you with a university degree within logistics, economics or related and excellent logistics knowledge. You have good knowledge of the legislations/regulations governing the transport industry and a broad experience within customer delivery. We also want you to have experience of purchase and contract management as well as business development.

As a person you are customer, result and goal oriented. You have good communications skills, including the ability to give open and honest feedback. You are hungry for knowledge and want to improve your skills and learning. Finally, you have a strong connection to the IKEA Values and Culture and desire to live them in your daily work.
