Husqvarna Environmental Affairs is responsible for analysis, advice and management of environmental matters throughout the Group.

There are an increasing number of legal requirements regarding chemical substances in products, such as REACH, RoHS and Conflict minerals. In addition to these purely legal requirements, we can also see a growing demand from our customers that spans beyond legal requirements.

Position/Job Description

The Chemical manager shall, in collaboration with the business units, improve and maintain processes and methods ensuring that Husqvarna complies with the chemical regulations, as well as communicate with suppliers and customers. The Chemical manager shall monitor and interpret chemical legislations and propose guidance to the business to be compliant as well as follow up internal processes.
The work includes ensuring revision of Husqvarna's restricted materials list (RML), collect and analyse relevant chemical data from suppliers, supporting the business units in preparing information to customers on products, verifying the quality of chemical data and support development of Safety Data Sheets for our own products etc.

In addition to the above, the candidate will be required to handle special project assignments and daily routine work. Travelling will be an integral part of the work, as Husqvarna operates in over 40 countries worldwide.
The candidate will work in close cooperation with the team at Environmental Affairs.

Essential Duties
1. Monitor new and changing legislation on chemicals globally.
2. Support communication with new and existing suppliers on Husqvarna's requirements for chemical substances.
3. Support development of software systems for managing chemical
4. Provide input to business units, category and product managers and other stakeholders on the results of chemical inventories.
5. Provide support and assistance to the Sales & Service business units in preparing information to customers on products.
6. Provide support regarding chemical information for Husqvarna's own products sold on the global market.

Preferred Qualifications
In-depth knowledge and understanding of chemical legislation, as well as very good knowledge of business English is mandatory. Working knowledge other European language(s), especially German, is a further merit.
The applicant must have a finished academic degree in chemistry from a recognized university. First-hand working knowledge of the most common software office systems and databases is a further requirement.
The candidate will be working in a fast-paced and ever-changing business environment and must therefore be adaptable and also be capable of driving change. The ideal candidate has the characteristics of a self-starter, is socially talented, and has a strong drive and a will to perform.
