Chief Architect

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.Are you interested in complete vehicle architecture and how we build strategic solutions for Scania and Traton? In this role, you will have the mandate to affect our product portfolio for years to come!

The Vehicle Architecture group works on a complete vehicle level in the concept development phase. Our main task is to secure a stable vehicle architecture over time for both bus and truck, and according to the principles of modularization we balance customer value against additional performance steps. 

We are now looking for a new member to our Chief Architect Team, a team that plays an essential role in the future architecture of the vehicles offered by the entire Traton group.

Your Tasks


• Understand customer demands and translate these into technical solutions together with Product Planning and the Global Use Case Teams
• Lead early conceptual cross-functional investigations, e.g. implications when we move into fDNA and Traton Modular System
• Assure a stable vehicle architecture for the Traton product portfolio by supporting and influencing R&D projects with extra focus on modular solutions and layout interfaces
• Work closely with all brands within Traton to build a common strategy for vehicle architecture

Your Profile

We are looking for a technically skilled person to pave the path for future premium products that our customers will yearn for. We also believe you have many of the following qualities:


• You have the ability to see “the big picture" and are probably used to managing tasks on a high level of complexity
• You are knowledgeable within modularization – you understand the balance between customer offering and a properly sized modular toolbox 
• You have communicative skills and experience from getting your message across to higher management level. Your English is fluent.
• You enjoy being part of an international team with great diversity
• As a person, you have natural innovative and leadership qualities and a solutions-oriented mindset
