Arbetsbeskrivning
Sandvik Machining Solutions (“SMS”) – a segment within the Sandvik Group’s business area Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions – is a market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting, optimizing customers' machining operations and where great focus now is on growing in digital services for the whole process of our customers’ machining operations. Sandvik is determined to make the digital shift, and our objective is clear – we are providing cutting edge digital solutions for our industry. We operate through five divisions, whereof four are separate cutting tool brands, operating independently of each other with a total of around 17 000 employees worldwide.
The complexity of multiple markets, laws and regulations is an everyday challenge for us, and evaluating and managing risks and balancing them against potential opportunities or profits requires sound judgement, accuracy, and strong integrity. Within SMS, we consider compliance extremely important, and actively work to secure that we do business in a compliant manner. We’re now looking for a Chief Compliance Officer to drive this important area throughout the business and across our divisions.
Your mission
In this position, you lead our international team of compliance officers within SMS, and together you further develop our ethical culture by creating awareness and actively promote the importance of compliance throughout the organization. You follow up and work with compliance performance management across our divisions, taking responsibility for the four Sandvik compliance programs – Data Privacy, Competition Law, Trade Compliance and Anti-Bribery & Corruption. You cooperate with designated contact persons within the divisions, as well as our group function and other business areas. Active benchmarking and best practice sharing, staying on top of regulatory trends, as well as oversight of further development, are other important tasks.
Your responsibility also includes managing whistleblowing cases pertaining to the business area, developing procedures, executing plans and setting ways of working. By managing our digital tools, you ensure a relevant and efficient toolbox for driving success in this area. In addition, you drive the work related to our compliance tool, the Compliance House, used by all Sandvik’s operations to manage compliance risks and to provide insights into risk levels and compliance maturity in our entities.
You report to the General Counsel of Sandvik Machining Solutions and you are our link to the Sandvik Group’s Compliance functional council – ensuring collaboration across our other business areas and up to Sandvik Group Executive Management and the Board.
The location for this position is Stockholm or Sandviken and as you’re leading a global team, some travel is required.
Your background and character
You likely have a law degree (or an equivalent education in business or finance) and extensive compliance experience from working at an inhouse legal or compliance organization – preferably in an international corporation, with a regulatory agency and/or a reputable business law firm. Knowledge in the field of compliance, anti-corruption, trade, data privacy and competition law is needed, while experience from areas such as internal control, risk management, EHS or governance is advantageous. The same goes for understanding the practical aspects of building and sustaining a well embedded compliance program in a global and international cooperation.
With a strategic outlook and an independent working style, you find your way in our decentralized environment. You build solid networks and great collaborations, and you empower people to find efficient solutions, look at new perspectives and share best practices. As we act in a global setting, you must be fluent in English, while skills in other languages are beneficial.
