BlueStep Finans AB (BlueStep) is a Swedish credit market company with a license to conduct financing. The Company are under the supervision of Finansinspektionen and BlueStep has since April 2005 helped tens of thousands of people in Sweden and Norway get a Homeloan when the traditional banks say no. What distinguishes BlueStep from other lenders is that that they specialise in situations where a detailed individual credit assessment is critical.  In addition to its core Homeloan business in Sweden and Norway it has an expanding Unsecured Lending business.

The ambition of the business is to be a consistent long term specialist lender in the Nordic region. BlueStep aim to attain this by being the best option for people who have difficulty getting a Homeloan from other lenders.

BlueStep is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and has a branch in Oslo. The company has approximately 140 employees in Sweden and Norway. At the end of 2013 the Company had a lending book of 6.9bn SEK, a capital base of 508m SEK and PAT of 88m SEK.

BlueStep has in excess of SEK9bn of funding via a combination of retail deposits, an established Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RBMS) programme and capital from its owner Bregal Capital LLP.

The Role

BlueStep is looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to take ownership of the finance, treasury and analytics functions and support the Senior Management and owners. BlueStep continues to expand and requires a commercially astute CFO to support the strategic direction of the business.

The CFO will oversee financial administration, business planning, budgeting and treasury functions. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the CFO will also work closely with the board of directors.

As a Chief Financial Officer you will:



• Work with the CEO on operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide recommendations to the CEO based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation

• Partner with the businesses leadership, acting as confidant, adviser and challenger to ensure the business goals, resources, and processes are appropriate and delivered

• Assimilate and communicate both internally and externally complex financial data and ideas with clarity and transparency

• Manage and evaluate risk based value decisions

• Assess value creation in a strategic sense

• Lead the Finance, Treasury and Data Analytics teams; currently 13 staff

Requirements and suitable background:



• Educated to a University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with relevant experience from a deposit taking/regulated environment

• Carry him/herself with confidence and with a high degree of professionalism with external stakeholders – investors, advisers, funding partners, etc.

• Strong Financial, Funding and Accounting skills

• Strong overall business knowledge and intuition for numbers. This may be learnt over time (if not familiar with such a business) but they will need to demonstrate ability to think clearly about the business dynamics

• Clear understanding of the levers of value creation in the business and constructive ideas about how to best manage these

• Enjoy combining tasks of analytical and complex nature with tasks of a more communicative and strategic nature
