CMM Method and System Development Engineer

Sandvik Machining Solutions is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting. Products are manufactured in cemented carbide and other hard materials such as diamond, cubic boron nitride and special ceramics. We are now looking for a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Method and System Development Engineer, who can further the development and integration of method and system in CMM-based metrology.

The department is responsible for the development, maintenance and support of CMM methods and applications, as well as related software platforms. The department is also part of a skills and resource area in the center of excellence, responsible for working methods, data distribution and system implementation in CAD, CAM and CMM.

This position has close contact with
- CMM measurement related department in production units of Tools
- Related R&D of Pas, CAD/CAM team of Tools, SMS
- Design & Development Dept for parametric design program
- CMM machine and system suppliers

Key performance areas
This position works mainly with the development of measurement methods and measuring strategies. It includes responsibilities such as:
- Participate in and manage the development of methods for CMM-based measurement techniques.
- Develop and document optimized and reliable measurement methods and its education to global users
- Participate in new product projects and work with measurement method
- Support the systems development

This position also follows technology trends and explores future opportunities for technicians in the areas of interest.

Your profile
To be well suited for the position you should have at least a Bachelor's of Science degree, with specialization in engineering or computer science. You might also be an experienced production engineer. Experience in Siemens NX is mandatory and experience in CMM technology is an advantage.

You can work independently, think strategically and have good interpersonal skills, a strong sense of responsibility and good language skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge in Swedish is advantageous.
