Commercial Claims

With offices in seven countries, Stena Bulk is one of the world's leading tanker companies. We have a controlled fleet of about 100 vessels. We are now looking for a commercial claims colleague to our team at the Gothenburg office.
Our offer 
You will have an opportunity to be part of our team working with Commercial Claims. The claims group main responsibilities are to calculate, create and submit demurrage claims according to agreed charter party terms. Your main tasks will be to follow up, negotiate and collect outstanding demurrage. To succeed in this role, you need to have previous experience of this type of work and understand when it is time to negotiate or demand outstanding demurrage.
In this role, you will be responsible for keeping systems and documentation up to date as well as preparing and presenting statistics. You will work with follow-up and take preventive actions; through information sharing as well as gathering legal advice to negotiate disputes and initiating legal processes.
The role includes handling demurrage for five of our offices, which requires close collaboration with the other offices around the world. For us it is of the most importance that you care for the commercial relations and have the ability to weigh legal rights against commercial effects.


About you 
To thrive in this role, you need to be a team player who understands, contributes and appreciates a well-functioning team. Cooperation and daily dialogue, both internally and externally, are key elements for us to deliver the best possible result for our customers and our own organization.
We are looking for a person with a Master’s degree in Maritime management with subsequent work experience from work at sea, preferably tanker shipping, or operations.
To succeed you need to be driven and have professional integrity. We believe you have an analytical mindset, are structured and detail oriented and understand that our business never sleeps. Stena Bulk is global player and sometimes the usual office hours must be adapted to business, customer, travel or simply to support a colleague who needs reinforcement. We expect you to be able to communicate fluently in English. Language skills in Russian is a merit.
