ABB’s GPQS unit in Västerås, Sweden, part of the group’s Power Grids division, currently has a vacancy for a Commissioning Engineer, at our Field Operations.

Your responsibilities
Contribute to planning and implementation of commissioning activities.
Support and coordinate the installation activities with the Installation Supervisor/ Site Manager.
Implement commissioning design changes and provide mark-ups for as built project documentation.
Support continuous improvement of project process/product/system design.
Conduct risk and opportunity assessments during commissioning phase to ensure implementation of commissioning plan, and also identify and report potential risks related to contract/quality/program/cost.
Initiate and monitor risk mitigation plan in the area of responsibility and ensure stakeholders are updated on associated technical risks.
Coordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance Certification, identify and recommend new effective solutions to meet business and customer needs.
Manage external organizations to ensure availability of commissioning equipment, systems or services.
Give feedback to the organization to apply lessons learned process.
Apply and improve processes and tools in one’s technical area to ensure effective project delivery.

Your background
A BSc in engineering, with a specialisation in High Voltage electrical power, electronics, computer science or similar is required
Preferably you combine this with some years of experience from similar positions working with deliveries, services or commissioning’s of electrical power plants and/or control systems. We would also like to see that you have experience of Swedish Electrical Installation
Installation experience is an advantage. An outgoing personality is a must, as this job entails a great deal of customer contacts and close cooperation with colleagues and suppliers
You are structured, quality and safety-driven person.
You are a team player who is driven and result-oriented.
You have good communication skills and are strong in building relationships with your different stakeholders.
You have culture awareness and proactive mindset as you will be working in a global multicultural and innovative environment for that reason proficiency in English is required.
