Component engineer battery enclosure


As the Component Engineer for Battery Enclosure, you will be responsible for the structural design of the battery housing and service box. You will lead the team into the next generation of world class structural design, define the verification plan and time plan. You will ensure that requirements given by system engineers are met and help guide the CAD designers within your team. You will be the key person who ensures that the component is producible, able to design for both assembly and aftermarket. You should be comfortable coordinating with suppliers, able to create understanding and lead negotiations.

You will
Have overall project management capability and responsibility for the component


Be responsible for components within mechanical design team such as battery enclosure and service box and venting units


Make and be responsible for the verification plan
Have a good base of battery knowledge in different applications including battery safety.


Be involved in early phases and concepts this is where you need battery knowledge and industrial experience


Contribute to the team’s roadmap


Lead and prioritize technical innovations and benchmarking activities – Advanced Engineering.


Lead proof of value and proof of concept internally and together with external partners.

Skills
Knowledgeable of structural battery or battery enclosure design


Experienced with a minimum of 4 years of work within industry within battery related teams. Battery or battery enclosure experience is a must!


Effective in your ability to understand manufacturing technologies and systems


Able to read mechanical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)


A professional who is able to work in a collaborative and flat structure
Very self-motivated, a self-starter and a true problem solver


Bachelors of science in engineering with a mechanical engineering or mechatronics background
