Component Owner - Infotainment



 

As responsible for an Infotainment component, you are responsible for the overall component project execution, supplier management, and in some cases, team leadership. The component owner scope varies in size from the Infotainment Head Unit (large team with HW and SW leads, plus multiple supporting SW and HW engineers and project coordinators) to the smallest, least complex components, where you might handle multiple components, suppliers, and platforms (generally HW only product). We are seeking all types of Component Owners for any of our Infotainment Products (IHU, Audio, Antenna, Driver Information Module, Head-up Display, Telematics, Center Display). You must have experience in automotive product release cycles and tools, such as Teamcenter. You will be responsible for the engineer sourcing package (ESOW including the component Design Prerequisite Document (DPR)), engineering supplier selection, and the development of the Technical Regulation (TREG) and product drawing. You will manage part numbers and deliveries, ensuring supplier execution to the project plans (including APQP), or handling deviations and exceptions. You will work within CEVT’s Infotainment & Driver Information Module Team. You will work in close cooperation with the verification team, product quality, cross-functional competencies (packaging, EMC, electrical architecture, Basetech, manufacturing), Supplier Quality, purchasing, and the manufacturing launch team. The supplier you will manage will most likely be located in Asia. You will be part of a global development team with resources in both Sweden and China.

 

Responsibilities and tasks

- Be responsible for the engineer sourcing package (ESOW including the component Design Prerequisite Document (DPR)), engineering supplier selection, and the development of the Technical Regulation (TREG) and product drawing
- Manage part numbers and deliveries, ensuring supplier execution to the project plans (including APQP), or handling deviations and exceptions
- Manage all program Issues with supplier
- Define, plan and monitor all deliverables, including documentation from supplier, either by yourself or together with your team (depending on component scope)
- Work in close cooperation with the verification team, product quality, cross-functional competencies (packaging, EMC, electrical architecture, Basetech, manufacturing), Supplier Quality, purchasing, and the manufacturing launch team
- Report to one or more project teams (depending on component scope) and the Component team.

 

Requirements

- Sc. Electrical Mechanical or Computer Engineering (or comparable work experience)
- At least 5-10 years of experience in either automotive component ownership, automotive infotainment product development, or automotive infotainment verification and validation activities. Required relevant product knowledge and experience for the component you are seeking, for example, IHU would require both SW and HW product development knowledge, leadership of large teams, and proven project management skills. For some deeply specific technical areas, such as antennas, relevant experience from similar industry product development is acceptable. Preference for OEM experience.

Additional information

- Each individual in our team has a high level of initiative, drive, responsibility & also mandate, and is expected to work autonomously.
- Travels to China will be needed (3-5 per year).
