EMS Components is the group within Engine engineering responsible for both installation and specification of most electrical components required for controlling and monitoring our engines.

As Component Responsible you carry responsibility for the Volvo Cars application of our components to the Engine and the Engine Management System. The components that you will be responsible for are designed and developed by sub suppliers in close cooperation with us. The supplier base is international and traveling occurs occasionally. Based on a project plan you will perform or coordinate all required activities that needs to be done to secure full functionality for your components. One important task is to communicate the requirements to suppliers and other departments in order to secure that final deadlines can be met with good quality. As our components have many connecting interfaces you will have a cross-functional role and get the opportunity to develop a broad network within Volvo Car Corporation.

Main responsibilities

* Perform or proactively coordinate all required activities in order to meet the project planes
* Be responsible for keeping track on both product costs and investments
* Arrange and carry out meetings with various departments and suppliers in order to secure that final deadline can be met with good quality
* Prepare and present progress or deviation reports to line or project management
* Secure that all your components has relevant requirements for full functionality and are verified in the right environment
* Issue all necessary documents to fully describe your components

Required qualifications

* University degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or equivalent working experience
* Fluent in English and Swedish, both verbally and in writing
* Experiences from the automotive industry is meritorious
* CAD experience such as Catia V5 is meritorious as well as experience or good understanding of CAE work and combustion engines

Personal qualities

* Excellent at communicating and a good listener
* Great sense of organisation and good administrative skills
* Independent and also a strong team player
* Desire and ability to contribute to the development of both the team and the working processes
* Interested in, and comfortable working with components that have clear mechanical and electrical interfaces
