Are you an engineer with a sense for quality and cost estimation? Then you might be a valuable addition to our team! We are looking for an engineer with a business mind for a consultant role evaluating technical solutions from a financial perspective.

Ensuring the supply of materials and services – at the right cost, quality and technology – is essential for the success of this assignment. You will work in a strategic function within purchasing; it consists of experts with extensive experience and skills within all different types of production methods used by our suppliers. The department uses state-of-the-art calculation software for both parts and tools.

The role as a Cost Estimator in the metal team serves to provide Purchasing with specialist competence regarding fact based cost analysis on purchased parts and tooling. As a Cost Estimator you work independently and in teams. The job includes international travelling to suppliers’ manufacturing sites to review the production processes from a cost perspective.

Daily tasks and responsibilities:

• Ensuring value for money when purchasing parts, by delivering cost estimates and arguments as a base for a fact based negotiation
• Estimating the cost for production of parts
• Estimating the tooling cost for all unique parts
• Supporting the team in important negotiations with suppliers
Competence Requirements:

You have a technical university degree or equal relevant working experience with at least 5-10 years of working experience within the area. You have proven knowledge from the manufacturing or tooling industry within one or several of the following areas; Casting, Machining, Welding, (arc, spot , laser), Forging, Assembly, Surface treatment, Sheet metal forming. Experience in cost calculations and fluency in written and spoken English is essential. It is highly beneficial if you also have documented negotiation skills.

Personality:

You have an outgoing personality and good communication skills together with a strong business orientation and analytical ability. Furthermore you possess good cooperation and teamwork skills.
