Surface Chemistry a business unit of AkzoNobel, operates in 50 countries, employing over 1500 people. Based in Chicago, IL, United States, with regional marketing centers in Bridgewater, NJ, United States, Singapore and Stenungsund, Sweden, we are a leading supplier of specialty surfactants and synthetic and bio-polymers additives. Using a combination of Chemical expertise, process technology, and application know-how, we solve problems for a multitude of manufacturers and formulators. We service a wide range of industries including agro, asphalt, cleaning, fabric care, paints, mining, personal care and oilfield.

The Customer Service Organisation within AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry EMEIA is responsible for providing professional customer service to a range of different customers within 12 market segments in Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.
Responsibility

About the position
We have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfil the role as Customer Service Manager within AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry EMEIA. This is a full time position, based in Stenungsund, reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Manager. You will lead our Customer Service organisation being the direct manager of three Customer Service Team Leaders, each with a responsibility for 4-5 Customer Service Representatives. You will be responsible for establishing and follow up of the department budget.

The main responsibilities of the position is to maintain and develop all Customer Service processes and activities for EMEIA (leveraging global solutions as appropriate by collaborating with colleagues from other regions) including order business process, customer management and collaboration, consignment, pricing, invoicing and international freight management. You will be responsible for leading the Customer Service Organisation, both directly and functionally in the EMEIA region, and creating a stimulating and developing working environment in order to contribute to the realization of the strategy for the business.

Job requirements / Candidate profile

To enjoy and be successful in this position you should have a strong customer focus and the ability to collaborate with many different stakeholders to reach the best result for the business. You have an analytical and result oriented mindset and you are driven by developing yourself and others as well as taking on new challenges. You also have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

You hold a degree in Economics or related field and have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, including experience in managerial positions, preferably from an international work environment. Experience from working with change management is required and experience from working with Lean and continuous improvement is an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
