Data Scientist to King in Malmö

We are looking for an intelligent, analytical individual with a good mathematics, statistics, economics or computer science degree (or similar), and the proven ability to apply those skills practically - generating business value.
Successful candidates might be great business analysts, sophisticated data miners, statisticians, or versatile software engineers, but preferably combine a bit of all those skills.

Required skills
We expect candidates to cover several of the following areas, and to be excited to learn in some of the areas you don?t yet know:

- Experience of dealing with large, real-world datasets (SQL)
- The ability to apply analytical thinking and methods to business problems
- In depth statistical, machine learning, Bayesian knowledge
- Hands on experience with prediction, segmentation, etc using tools such as R, Weka.
- Worked with QlikView or other BI reporting/dashboard systems
- Robust statistical significance testing, A/B testing, predictive analytics
- Advanced use of Excel spreadsheets for analytical purposes
- ?Big data? systems experience (Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, etc) ? 2bn datapoints per day!
- Software engineering skills, in languages such as Java, Python, etc.
- An interest in facebook/social and mobile gaming

Beyond these technical areas, the role will involve

- Taking an active role in examining and understanding player behavior across social, mobile and skill based games.
- Building both large systematic reports and one-off small pieces of analysis.
- Ongoing reporting and performance monitoring from multiple data sources.
- Working with all parts of the business to identify analytical requirements and formalise an approach for reliable, relevant, accurate, efficient reporting on those requirements
- Translating business needs to technical requirements and implementation.
- Proactively developing new analyses and insights, to drive decisions and strategies for user acquisition, retention and monetization.
- Designing and implementing advanced statistical testing for customized problem solving.
- Debugging and problem to ensure delivery of accurate metrics, first time.
- Helping to scope and prioritise future work.

The role is as part of the Business Intelligence and Analytics team, looking to further understand, model, predict, segment and monetise King.com customers, and help take King?s data capabilities to the next level. We are interested in all levels of experience, from the very junior (e.g. straight out of a PhD) through to the more senior ? salary commensurate to ability and experience.
