Due to our increased ambitions within Research and Development (R&D), we are now looking for a Design Automation Engineer for our head office in Sandviken or in Gimo.

Key performance areas
As a Design Automation Engineer at our R&D department, you will play a central part in securing our position as a leading global supplier of tools within metal cutting. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining product configurators and CAD programs for product families that will be automated on demand to satisfy our customers. You will discover a creative and international environment where the work is done in a modern and innovative way. You will automate the design process from parameters and CAD modules to complete 3D design CAD models, customer data, drawings, etc. Product configuration and parameter programming are two ingredients that make design automation possible within Coromant.

In your position you will also:
- Develop knowledge within design automation
- Develop and implement new methods
- Build networks with subsidiaries, product developers, production units, customers and universities

The position involves some traveling (1-5 weeks/year).

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a university degree in engineering or the equivalent work experience. Experience within metal cutting, product development, programming and design is advantageous. As the work involves frequent international contacts, English is required.

As a person you are creative and have a structured and analytical way of working. You have a strong quality-consciousness and the ambition to develop and learn, as well as the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. We are looking for someone who wants to be involved and influence the department's development and who is open to change.
