Design Engineer for Transmission Auxiliary Brake

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Join the future at Transmission development!

The Scania Transmission development is now in a very interesting phase with parallel focus on conventional gearbox platform development and electrification powertrain development. Both areas are vital components to enable sustainable powertrains within the TRATON group.

The Retarder group has design and testing responsibility for the transmission mounted auxiliary brakes. The group is built up by seven development engineers and the work is truly cross-functional, including interfaces to other R&D-groups, production, purchasing and marketing. The properties of the auxiliary brakes are strongly connected to the Scania driver experience.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a driven design engineer that want to be part of our successful group. The design work at the group includes areas like complex housing parts, hydraulic stator/rotor, bearings, valves, heat exchangers, sealings etc. The variety of technical areas are wide, e.g. hydraulics, strength, tribology, thermodynamics, mechanics etc. Preferably you have at least a few years of experience within any of these competence areas, or in a nearby field of expertise. You have a Bachelor or Master Degree in a relevant subject.

Since the work is performed in a cross functional environment with several people involved, we are looking for a communicative person that is willing to push the area forward, both when it comes to the product as well as the process and working methods. When the existing processes might not work, you are willing to find new ways that can take us to an improved normal situation.

What’s in it for you?
You will be working in an inclusion- and diversity-based environment with varied and challenging work assignments. Your colleagues have great enthusiasm for technology and will support your work in a collaborative manner. Continuous improvement and professional development of our employees is a priority for us. We support and encourage our employees to attend training courses both within the company and externally as well as attend conferences and similar to always be in the leading edge of knowledge. Whatever your professional aspirations are, Scania’s varied and numerous career development paths will help you achieve them.

On top of this, we offer our employees other benefits, such as company lease car, performance bonuses, pension savings, flexible working hours, workout/gym possibilities, lunch at reduced prices and much more.
