We are now looking for Design for Manufacturing Engineers to join our Product Preparation group within Operations.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The Design for Manufacturing Engineers will play a key role within the product development phase to ensure that the products are designed for production and that the production units have the right prerequisite and instructions to produce.

You willcontribute with produceability expertise in product development and product maintenance projects and drive produceability activities. Furthermore, you will develop and implement assembly instructions, production methods and equipment at the production sites, both at different EMS’s and at our configuration centres.

The position requires travelling around 50 days a year.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Axis is looking for an open minded, hands on and driven individual with a technical university degree or similar. We believe that you have at least 4 years of previous production engineering experience of manually assembled products.

You are good at reading mechanical drawings, understanding tolerance chains and have production capability knowledge. You have very good communication skills in English and a strong ability to collaborate across organizational and cultural boarders.

Furthermore, you have good knowledge in MS Office, experience to perform FMEA and it is considered a major advantage to have cleanroom and optics experience. Since teamwork is crucial for Axis as a whole, we believe it is important that you can contribute to a good team spirit promoting a creative and stimulating work environment.

PRODUCT PREPARATION GROUP
The Production Preparation group is involved in all stages of a products lifetime e.g. Industrialization project management, Design for Manufacturing and product data management in PDM and ERP system. During development of new products and during serial production the group perform product transfers between production sites, supports production and introduces product changes. The main collaboration is with R&D, EMS’s, the Configuration & Logistic Centres and the quality department.
