Developer within Interior Trim & Systems
93630 Compartment Trim and Overhead system is a group within the Art Interior Trim and System and the solution Vehicle Tophat. Currently our ART are approximately 120 engineers that develop interior components within trunk and tailgate, floor, roof, pillars, absorbents, accessories, police cars and light armored cars, interior lights and sensing systems including SW. 
We are now looking for a developer/design engineer for the Compartment trim team.
The team Compartment trim have a product responsibility for all hard trim pillars and sill mouldings in the compartment area of the cars. As Developer/Design engineer you will be working in all phases, from concept development through industrialization phase of the project up until production start and finally running changes. You will design our components and systems to reach the technical objectives and secure the deliveries within the given time. The work will be carried out together with a team consisting of other design engineers, test engineers and CAE engineers.

You will be a part of a self-organized development team that today consists of 7 developers with a “cradle to grave” responsibility and where collaboration is key. The role requires close contact with all developers within the team, other areas within R&D, design, procurement and our suppliers. The development team are designing all parts within their responsibility area in a “build-to-print” set-up where most of the engineering work is done in-house. We want to be very flexible and business oriented. We try to be curious, open minded and perform benchmark both of our OEM competitors as well the customer out in the market.

In this role you will be given the possibility to improve and deepen your technical knowledge of the system area and the chance to build new network within our company. 
Vehicle Tophat and ART Interior Trim & System is a highly focused area both from design and customer point of view, which makes it an interesting and dynamic ART to be a part of.

You and your skills 
We believe that you have a Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience with several years in R&D. You have a genuine interest in products, innovations, design and customer needs. 

We are now looking for a design engineer with knowledge within plastic design and where good experience in CATIA V5 is mandatory.
We are looking for a creative, curious and people-oriented person that can be flexible with different products and tasks. You are a self-starter and highly motivated to take up new challenging tasks.

This role requires you to have great communication skill and fluency in English. You need to have the capacity to drive several issues simultaneously and work in a structured way. You are together with your team accountable for all your deliveries, and you need to be result oriented and flexible with the focus to get the job done.  
All individuals in an Agile team plays a very important role and therefore we put personal behaviors and characteristics very high in priority.  
To test, evaluate and have a good product knowledge you need to have driver license B. 
Of course, you also need to have knowledge of Agile and SAFe way of working at Volvo.  
Meritorious experience 
•  Experience from working in an agile self-organized development team 
•  Knowledge of the Agile SAFe framework 
•  Experience from earlier design engineering roles, preferable within plastic design 
•  Knowledge about Volvo cars way of working and the systems that is used for product development
