Development Engineer to UV Team at AkzoNobel

Akzo Nobel Industrial Coatings is a leading manufacturer of paints and coatings for industrial surface finishing. We provide beauty and protection to wood products such as windows, doors, cabinet, floors and furniture?s. In Sweden we have approximately 300 employees at our office and production site in Sege/Malmö.

The Global Development Teams within Wood Coatings is responsible for ownership of technology platforms and large development projects globally. The working group holds the responsibility for development of UV curing. A global development group for exterior coatings within Wood Coatings also exists on site.

We now have 1 opening for the position as Development Engineer to join our UV team.


Responsibilities

The work includes running, following up and execute the projects which have been agreed. The type of tasks in the projects may include literature studies, patent searches, planning, analyze and document all results. Other tasks can be to follow up and evaluate new raw materials, test of competitor products and producing samples for customer tests.

All tasks should aim to follow and to reach the established specifications and predetermined time frames of the project. The work includes handling all documentation needed according to the routines of the stage gated.

The work includes the employee to stay updated, searching for technical literature, collecting information from the market and other external sources which could be of interest to be able to introduce new methods and technologies into the market.


Job requirements

To be successful in this position you should hold a PhD or Master of Science in Chemistry, or similar knowledge obtained through work experience. Beneficial is earlier experience from development of coatings and especially UV curing.

As a person you should have a high focus on quality in all parts of work and used to work with deadlines. You are a good communicator, verbal as written in both the Swedish and English language. You have a strong ability to cooperate within teams and with internal as well as external customers, adaptable to changes in cultural environments. You are organized, result oriented and able to work independently.


Additional information

This is a permanent position on a full time basis, reporting to the group leader in the Global UV. The position is placed on our site in Sege, Malmö.
