Development Engineer, Vehicle Emissions

Do you want to be a part of developing future powertrains for vehicles? We are looking for the smartest engineers interested in development and testing within the automotive industry. AVL MTC employs 270 people at our Techcenters in Södertälje, Haninge, Trollhättan and Gothenburg. 
 
The Vehicle Emissions team, based in Haninge, is responsible for complete vehicle analysis with focus on emissions and fuel consumption. The group conducts work within a diverse range of applications, including heavy duty vehicles, passenger cars, construction equipment, non-road & mobile machinery. The main tools include heavy and light duty PEMS equipment for on-road emissions measurements, mobile fuel consumption equipment and heavy and light duty chassis dynamometers.   
 
The position as Development Engineer in the Vehicle Emissions team expects from you to, together with the team, develop the activities and methods of the group within the core area of vehicle measurements.   
 
The work tasks include:  Test planning: defining instrumentation needs, route selection, test execution, etc    Monitoring of testing activities   Data evaluation & analysis   Results presentation & communication with customers   Development of testing methods  One of the main responsibilities is assist in the development of our truck benchmarking methods where AVL Sweden has a global responsibility within the AVL group. Benchmarking is a broad topic where an understanding of the entire vehicle system is key to success.   
Your Profile:    You are results-oriented and analytical.    Since system understanding is important, cross disciplinary skills is of merit.    Most of the projects are executed in-house at our facilities, occasional travel is expected to serve our international clients, work at customer locations is also a possibility.    Very good social and communication skills in Swedish and English.   Well organized and enthusiastic team member that can lead the work forward.    Eager to learn from and also guide your co-workers within your specialty.    Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
