Currently, we think that's Wrapp, the latest addition to our city's long list of startups, and Skype-founder Niklas Zennström's first investment in his native Sweden.

At Wrapp we love giving gifts and want to make the act of giving as easy as it is to send a greeting on Facebook. Working for Wrapp means working with an amazing team of engineers that have previously helped building companies including Spotify, Rebtel, Stardoll, Groupon, SoundCloud, Jaycut, Bambuser, Ocean Observations and Epidemic Sound /add to list/. Though that's a long list, we're still a small team: only seven people on the tech and product side of the company. That means you will have a big impact on the future direction of things at Wrapp.

We're passionate about our work and expect you to be as well. We value a strong academic background but think intellectual curiosity, ambition and genuine interest in your field matters more. You probably have a side project you're working on that you'd be proud to show us, perhaps an open-source project at GitHub or just a cool browser extension, web site or mobile app.

While we prefer full-stack generalists who can work on any part of our code base, we have four areas where we see people focusing.

And while we don't have any physical machines ourselves, as we launch Wrapp in more and larger markets, scalability will be a challenge on the infrastructure level as much as on the application level. If you have maintained large web applications, and especially if you have helped them scale from an early stage to millions of users, we'd like to hear from you. If you have additionally used AWS to do it and knows how to automate deployment of new instances dynamically under load, have experience of what performance and stability issues to worry about and how to build geographically distributed infrastructure, you might be a perfect fit.

We expect you to have a favorite Linux distribution and to be able to argue passionately about why it's better than all the other ones ? at least for solving a specific problem.

Since you will be the first person in this role on our team, ideally you should want and be able to lead a small group of people as Wrapp grows. You should also understand what it means to be responsible for our uptime and be willing to take that call at 4am when a server has crashed.

You should also know (or be willing to learn) how to code, since we believe that the road to sysadmin efficiency and quality lies in automation. We also don't want there to be a firewall between ops and dev or between the backend application and the system it runs on. You should be able to work on the backend application when it's required, just as the dev team will help with infrastructure stuff.
