Manufacturing Engineering Stamping is a global function with the responsibility to launch new car programs and processes in Volvo Cars' plants as a part of Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering.

Our mission is to develop and implement sheet metal stamping processes for new car models within Volvo Cars. The operative location for this role will be in Olofström with occasionally traveling to Gothenburg as well as Die Suppliers around the world.

What you’ll do
As a Stamping Die Process Engineer for Press hardening and/or Cold forming you will be deeply involved in the design and development of the car and its body-components from an early stage until start of production in our car plants. The work is conducted in cross functional teams consisting of product design, production engineering and simulation as well as internal and external die manufacturer. 

In early project phases you will lead and drive the feasibility work regarding the components in cooperation with product design in Gothenburg. Alongside with this you will develop the production process for the component and during the production process development, be the interface against the die suppliers around the world.

Do you fit the profile? 
We think that you have a B.Sc within mechanical engineering, an M.Sc would be meritorious! You have good knowledge in Catia V5 and experience from sheet metal forming and/or Press hardening Blank/Press/Laser cut. 
Since you will be joining an international company, fluency in English, written and spoken is a requirement and speaking Swedish is a plus!

Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience in project management from stamping die or similar engineering processes. It is also meritorious with experience from Stamping die design and manufacturing and product engineering.

You are a people centric communicator with great interpersonal skills, and you get energy from co-operating with others.  You understand the strength in differences in people and you know how to utilize this when working together.

You have the ability to package the “why, what and when” into a clear and compelling story and with this encourage and engage people to try new ways of working together. You enjoy a good challenge and assimilate new ideas.

As a person, you are enthusiastic, have the ability to build long-term relationships and are responsive to the needs of both colleagues and customers. 

Finally, you are available for travel within and outside Europe if there is need for it.
