Director Business Development Coal

We’re now looking for an experienced Director of Business Development to work towards the coal market.
Your mission
You’re responsible for the offering development for Mechanical Cutting Systems and Solutions where more than one product line is involved and where complete systems are being offered to the transforming coal market. You ensure that Mechanical Cutting has the competence and know-how to offer tailored solutions to our global customers. Where required, you work in alliances with other companies, which might be required for the entire offering in view of growth in digitalization. To grow market share and support the Sales Areas to drive portfolio sales & strategies globally, you develop and implement a global profitable and competitive coal offering strategy and portfolio. Focus is on setting the industry standard with respect to future equipment offering including aftermarket solutions and the customers Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). This will assist the Sales Area in transforming the coal business.
You’re also responsible for the definition of new developments for products and solutions and for the development of new technologies in coordination with Product Line Management and R&D/Engineering of the respective Division. Working together with the Sales Area managers in the development of partnerships with customers for the joint development of systems and solutions, you focus on the utilisation of the complete SMR and Mechanical Cutting product portfolio.
This position is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and some international travel is included.
Your character
We’re looking for someone with a technical or engineering background and work experience within product and technology development as well as with Sandvik’s different Sales Areas. Customer focus is important, as well as experience of working with partnerships or joint venture development. You have a good understanding of the key success factors and the implementation of new technologies in the mining industry and the global market development in the coal industry.
You also need vast knowledge of our SMR mining processes and an understanding of the processes of complex projects. You’re familiar with the market trends, developments in the industry and customer needs. Finally, an interest to work on new technical solutions for the coal industry is key in future transformation of the coal business and product offering.
