The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan is looking for Director of Administration, Posted at Kabul Management Office, Kabul, Afghanistan Administration Department The Administration Department (AD) headed by Director of Administration is responsible for Human Resource Management (HRM), Administration, Information Technology (IT), Procurement services and Safety & Security at KMO and for standards, guidelines and technical backstopping of related fields to KMO and Project/Field Offices.The Department comprises approximately 140 staff members Scope of Work Directly responsible to the Country Director and a member of the SCA Directors Group, the Director of Administration ensures that relevant, efficient and effective services are provided at KMO in order to facilitate a successful implementation of SCA?s projects and other activities with focus on being proactive and not reactive in serving the organisation and implementing defined standards.The Director of Administration is also responsible for Security issues within the organisation and therefore need to build and maintain security standards and strategic information networks.Furthermore, the Director of Administration function as link between expatriates employed in Afghanistan and the Human Resource Officer at Stockholm Management Office, and as such is responsible for introduction programs and the general expatriate staff welfare.Entry Requirements Qualifications: - Ideally possesses a degree at master?s level, preferably in fields such as human resource management or business administration or equivalent documented experience Experience: - At least five years of relevant work experience in administration and/or human resource management of a large organisation with a sound understanding of security management - At least four years of working at senior level within an international NGO or similar organisation - Experience from work in a post-conflict environment and in Muslim countries is an advantage Others: - Demonstrated leadership/management skills - Being a team-builder and being able to adapt to a cross-cultural context - Ability to prioritise, delegate, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines - Ability to travel frequently to project offices within Afghanistan and adjust to difficult and basic living conditions - Excellent command of English is a must Responsibilities General -To promote gender equality, non discrimination with regard to ethnic, political and religious background in the organisation and all Admin Department processes -Inspire managers and co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence and focus on service-mindedness and build capacity of the Admin Department staff -Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change -Promote an attitude of team spirit, cooperation and a strong focus on quality -To do any other tasks within the field of competency as assigned by the Country Director See www.sak.se (Lediga jobb) for detailed ad/job description.2 years contract, duties to begin in October 2010.
