We are now looking for an inspiring leader for the role Director Operational Excellence. The Operational Excellence team is part of the department “Projects & Execution” within the “Planning, Purchasing and Product & Solutions Development” (PPP) organisation.
The Operational Excellence team is a team of analytical, innovative and goal-oriented persons who believe in combining work with fun in order to succeed. Trying new things and driving change is how we build and shape our success and the future of Volvo Penta.


Key Responsibilities
The Director Operational Excellence is responsible for the operational development portfolio and to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PPP organization and across Volvo Penta for DVP (Develop Product & Aftermarket product portfolio) process improvements.
In brief these are the key responsibilities:
Manage the Operational Excellence team and develop the team and individuals
Manage the operational development portfolio and execute DVP process improvements
Drive the Improvement Councils (steering committees) for operational development
Drive efficiency improvement programs for PPP
Identify improvement areas where continuous improvements are needed
Support pro-active quality work in R&D projects
Support the learning organization
To be the PPP interface towards Penta Digital&IT, GTT Digital Engineering for IT and tools development

Except your great personality the below competences are needed:
Experience from the automotive industry from project management, product development or other relevant areas
Strong leadership skills – bringing out the best in people and teams
Results oriented and “can-do-it” attitude
Excellent capability for collaboration and stake holder management
Holistic view, but with the ability to go into details when needed
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels
Structured and well organized
Master of Science or similar university degree
