What we offer?

The ART Electric Drive SW (ART EDSW) at Volvo Cars is part of Propulsion Controls and Calibration. We are responsible for delivering system solution and SW functionality for the Inverters in our electric vehicles. Our vision is to deliver the best functionality in the market and continuously evolve our development platform. The group consist of 14 enthusiastic people with a mix of gender, ages and nationalities. What you will do?

Within the ART this position is placed in a Scrum team called “ED System & Safety”. You will be one of the key stakeholders who takes part in concept evaluation, writing system & SW design requirements and validation of those requirements at final stage of the product.

You will work as developer in the team, understanding the big picture of Electric Drive (or Inverter) controls and breaking down the concepts to implementable and testable requirements. You will, along with the team, receive safety goals and need to perform safety evaluations and as an output define safety requirements with ASIL integrity within the subsystem. You will make safety verification and system validation on the vehicle level. You will be part of the safety process and work together with System Safety Manager and external interfaces to secure the process according to ISO 26262.

You and your skills

You have a University degree within engineering area and have experience with strong experience in system engineering and requirement writing. You have previous experience and knowledge in the area of ISO 26262.
It would be appreciated if you have knowledge in any sort of electrical power system and have a genuine interest in working with future electrical vehicles.

As a person you are open minded, strategical and good decision maker.  You are also structured, data driven and have good documentation skills. You are great with verbal, written and visual communication skills in English and have a Driving license “B”, valid in Sweden.
