Electrical Engineering Manager - Västra Götaland - Sweden

We are now looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager on behalf of one of our customers
On behalf of one of our customer with operations in western Sweden, we are now searching for an Electrical Engineering Manager for employment at the company.

Role description:
As Electrical Engineering Manager you will collaborate with the management team to develop and execute long term plan to profitability for the electric drive business segment. You will develop, coach and provide technical guidance to a team of 10-15 associates who have a high knowledge within this technology. You will be an important part of this strong global company’s growth. You will report to Engineering Director. An important mission is to secure the company’s position as a technical and market leading in electric & hybrid drive systems. You will work with a strategic focus and at the same time very close to the daily activities in Sweden.

Key tasks:

- Develop product strategy and drive technical and business innovation.
- Responsible for daily activities within core areas of electrical engineering; e-Machines (synchronous/asynchronous), power electronics, sensors & activators, wire harnesses & connectors.
- Work collaboratively with sales organization to identify, develop, pursue and conquest new business opportunities.
- Build technology and capability deployment plans
- Lead product development efforts and ensure that that customer and internal milestones are met.
- Manage development budget and capital budget and identify and solve business issues.
- Develop relationships with key OEM level and industry contacts
- Secure governmental grants.
- Secure that the local company is integrated into the global organization.
- Secure competence & leadership in the area of Electrical Engineering.
- Develop, train and evaluate employees within the area of Electrical Engineering in coordination with the Human Resources department.


Knowledge and Skills
You possess an expert level of understanding of electrical engineering concepts in at least one of the core areas and a working knowledge of the other areas. You have knowledge of internal organizational structure, business needs, budget, planning, legal/public relations considerations, and/or other related factors. You also have demonstrated skills and abilities needed to coordinate, facilitate and participate in a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments. You have a genuine experience of planning and organizing the work of others, collaboration and you are used to work with senior level decision-makers on an on-going basis. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to develop solutions.

Formal Qualifications and Experience

- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in electrical engineering relevant to the area of assignment; Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering highly desired.
- Minimum 8 years of combined technical and management experience relevant to electric drive systems
- Minimum 5 years of documented leadership experience 

Personal qualities

- Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate, in written and oral form, detailed and technical engineering information, guidelines etc.
- Ability to deliver presentations suited to the audience such as negotiating solutions among different parties, or providing expert testimony.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate associates, form consensus and resolve personality issues

Language
Speak and write fluent in English is important.
Ability to speak and write in Swedish is a plus.
The position requires frequent travel and candidates must be prepared to spend at least 60 nights away from home per year.
