Eleectrical design engineer

You will be part of FACTS in Västerås. The FACTS technology enables power system owners to increase capacity in the existing power system while the electrical stability improves. As a result, more power reaches the customers at a minimal environmental impact, shorter project lead time and at lower investment costs. At the FACTS unit in Västerås, we develop and sell this groundbreaking technology to customers on the global market.

FACTS is growing rapidly and most of our projects are located abroad. As Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for a designated area in different projects simultaneously. This will mainly include to perform electrical design in our design tool E3 and to handle contacts with project members and customers all over the globe. Communication with subsuppliers will also be an important task in this role. As ABB is keen on developing staff, you will constantly grow as Designer by applying your skills hands-on in various projects. Here, you will have the opportunity to participate during commissioning at international sites. The role also entails business trips with the purpose of clarifying technical matters to customers. This experience will add valuable and attractive competence to your skills repertoire. This role is suitable for the Senior Electrical Designer as well as for the newly graduate. As foundation, you have an occupational education, a BSc or MSc in Electrical Power or a four-year technical college degree combined with work experience. It is qualifying if you have worked with our electrical design tool E3 and/or relay protection, related to both testing and design. You are a confident computer user with proficiency in English, both in speech and in writing, while other languages are qualifying. As a person, you are open-minded, structured and independent. You are a true networker who enjoys building business relations with international contacts. Finally, all your work is conducted with ownership, thoroughness and a positive attitude.
