About the position
Battery Lifecycle Services ART is responsible for all post 1st life activities for traction batteries including remanufacturing / refurbishing, repurposing and recycling.
For Volvo Cars, management of batteries throughout their lifecycle contributes to not only our circularity and sustainability targets but are also considered as a valuable assets. We ensure that traction batteries are recycled to the highest possible standard. As an increasing number of batteries come to the end of their useful life the Battery Lifecycle Services product group Recycling is now looking to strengthen the team.
What you will do
As a member of a cross-funtional team you will work on a wide variety of Epics and Features relating to the recycling of traction batteries, including but not limited to:
Ensuring that VCSO and all NSCs (National Sales Company) as well as importers are aware of and fulfil (local) legal requirements concerning battery recycling and collection.
Liaison with governmental authorities, NGO’s (National Sales Company), ACEA (The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association), other vehicle manufacturers, importer associations, national battery collectors and other economic operators in the markets to identify leverage points to ensure fulfilment of our Producer Responsibilities in the battery field. 
Follow up on all possible upcoming battery regulations together with Regulatory Affairs. 
Work pro-actively with ACEA members and be member of the respective working groups to ensure that all upcoming revisions on the battery regulation is according to the ACEA positions thus minimize the cost for the automotive industry.
Investigate and analyse the electrification eco system and its impact for Volvo Cars and Service Operations and also to follow-up and monitor the market on battery recycling technologies and collection including their geographical coverage, actors and partnerships.
Help to develop and update our Volvo Cars battery recycle strategy in coherence with our sustainability strategy and also liase with regions on battery legislation both current and future and in doing so create a knowledge library which can be referenced and updated.
Authority
Be spokesman and represent Volvo Cars in battery recycling operational related issues throughout the markets with End Of Life Vehicle laws.
Be spokesman and represent Volvo Cars in Cross brand/Governmental/ Non Governmental Organisation /Infrastructure/National associations meetings.
Who you are ?
You have a University degree or equivalent working experience preferably in the field of legislation and you are able to translate legal requirements into consequence and action plans.
Knowledge of high voltage batteries or battery recycling would be a distinct advantage.
You have international experience and you are a technical expert with knowledge of the different battery recycling processes. 
You have a successful track record of leading projects, good organizational and reporting skills.
Experience of working in an agile environment is preferable.
We value personal drive and ability to cooperate highly, as well as being solution orientated and business minded with the customer in focus.
You are fluent in English (Both verbal and written) other languages would be an advantage.
You are action oriented, committed to quality, have prioritization skills to delivery in time and have a mindset of finding new ways of working to continuously improve processes with focus on safety, efficiency and adding value to business
