We are a leading provider of corrugated packaging and are present in 37 countries, employing around 28,500 people. Our story can be traced back to the box-making businesses started in the 1940s by the Smith family in East London. DS Smith originally listed on the London Stock exchange in the late 1950s. With a product portfolio that includes transit packaging, consumer packaging, displays and promotional packaging, customized protective packaging and industrial packaging, DS Smith answers to each market requirement.

We´re looking for a Finance Business Partner to support the newly formed UFO business. This role plays a key role in establishing and maintaining the unit´s financial principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. This is a hands on role with a diverse remit to impact a dynamic business. We´re looking for someone who is based in DS Smith Packaging Järfälla, Sweden. There will be up to 30% travel across Europe required for the role.

Your main responsibilities in this role are financial control, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, commercial and governance.

Main Tasks

• Financial control
You will support the teams and ensure that all financial transactional processes are under control with risks identified and mitigations proposed. Ensure that cash and working capital are effectively controlled and overall position improved. Evaluate all reports and maintain financial accuracy for all unit processes and analyse all business trends and provide required explanations.

• Management
Ensure that Group financial and other related policies and procedures are implemented and maintained across the business. Help develop and provide support and governance to the business to ensure compliance with the packaging guidelines, including the HFM submissions to IPS/Packaging division/Group.

• Report and analysis
Produce monthly report deck for the management team. Develop and provide commercial reports for the central team members and challenge and support the team in understanding business performance.

• Savings follow up
Ownership of annual budgets and forecasts. Follow up of customer and supplier pricing and generated savings projects, regular reporting on the savings project portfolio development, challenge and support KAD/KAMs and the team with savings initiatives.

• Customer/supplier management
Support the team with input to tenders, pricing and costing processes, and indexation and prepare a financial summary to inform site´s new business decision making.

The ideal candidate

To be successful in the role, we see that the ideal candidate has a university degree or similar higher education graduate, preferably business or economics. You have a business process understanding, evidence of continuous learning and development during career with a minimum three years of working experience in a relevant role. You are results-oriented and can perform as well as make decisions on a high level in demanding situations. With experience in project management you are analytical and weigh risks and benefits effectively. You will collaborate with a project management team located across Europe and Share Service Center in Netherland which requires a very good level of spoken and written English, French and German is a plus. We also see that you have very good knowledge in Microsoft Excel and an advantage if you master SAP.
