Financial controller – Business application specialist

We are now looking for a service-minded financial controller with great interest in applications and IT to be part of Group Financial Reporting.

Group Financial Reporting is a department within Corporate Control, which is responsible for group accounting, consolidation and follow-up of the Scania group. Deliveries from the department include reports and analysis of the financial performance of the Scania group to Scania’s CFO and executive board as well as reporting to the parent company Traton AG and financial reports to the market. This mission demands qualitative, timely and relevant financial information and not at least well-functioning financial applications. The location for this position is at Scania’s head office in Södertälje.

Job summary

The assignment as Financial controller – Business application specialist, implies to in a team of colleagues work with different system applications used by Scania Group Financial. The work tasks include maintenance of applications, participation in projects and work groups, ad hoc assignments and work with continuous improvements concerning the different applications and the reporting process.

This role will have a special responsibility area for one application connected to accounting and reporting of leases, GLC (Global Lease Center), it means to be


•  Expert user of the GLC application
• Point of contact towards end-users
• Point of contact towards VW/Traton
• Coordinator of changes in the application and related processes

The position will give a great opportunity to understand accounting/reporting applications and the business structure within the Scania group. The position will expose you to a wide range of people from different parts of the organisation, both within Scania, VW and Traton that will give possibilities to create a good network.

Your profile

We are looking for a person with a degree in finance or business with a few years’ experience. Experience could be from financial reporting or working with accounting and reporting systems. We believe that you have a great interest in working with financial applications as well as like to work with process development and continuous improvements. You are an experienced Excel and PowerPoint user, further in general knowledgeable in IT. Since we work in a global environment, you need to be able to communicate in both English and Swedish.

Personal skills

To be able to solve complex tasks you need to be analytical as a person and have high problem solving skills. The ability to focus on details without losing grip of the big picture is therefore essential in order to succeed in your role. You should have the ability to both work independently and as part of a team. A service-minded and solution-oriented attitude is something we place great value in, therefore you need to have both social and communicative skills since the position will expose you to internal and external contacts.
