Position available to run an independent research program at the Lund Stem Cell Center, Division of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy, in the field of hematopoietic stem cell biology and developmental hematopoiesis. Candidate should also have strong expertise in pluripotent stem cells research and technologies. The ultimate goal of the research position is to advance the understanding of the development and maturation of human hematopoietic stem cells from pluripotent stem cells to develop novel treatment modalities for the treatment of hematological disorders and malignancies. The group leader will manage his or her own research group with hiring and mentoring PhD students and/or postdocs and staff and be required to secure funding for his or her research program. An additional critical role of the position within the Stem Cell Center is to be Director of both the Lund University Viral Vector Core Facility and the Stem Therapy Human Embryonic Stem cell and iPS Cell Core Facility. The former role, thus also requires expertise in viral vectors, design and use. In addition to being able to use the core facilities for your own research use, the multiuser open facilities must foster an environment for collaboration and advancement of research to scientists in the Stem Cell Center.




Önskvärda kvalifikationer

PhD and Postdoc training from leading research laboratories with high impact publication record.

Minimum of 4 years experience as an independent group leader, including management and training of staff and students.

Managing multi-user technical platforms and core facilities.

Strong expertise in the following research areas is required:
- developmental hematopoiesis
- hematopoietic stem cell biology
- pluripotent stem cell biology
- viral vector technologies
