You? A passionate Fullstack Engineer with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in a team setting.

Role? Contribute to the development of new features, improve our code quality, and collaborate across Nordic teams in one of Sweden's most agile firms.

Tech stack? Proficient with Python and ReactJS t as well and one or more modern programming languages/frameworks such as Java, Kotlin, NextJS, and Typescript.

Location? We work in a hybrid way and would like to catch up with you at our office in Stockholm at least three times per week.

WHO ARE YOU?

-
Experienced Full Stack developer with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience

-
Proficiency with Python (must) and one or more modern programming languages (Java, Kotlin, ReactJS...etc.).

-
Experience working on AWS (must) or any other cloud platform ecosystem.

-
Strong sense of ownership and focus on long-term usability and extensibility.

-
A collaborative attitude, team player, friendly, with passion and flexibility to learn new tools and skill sets.

-
Hands-on development experience in Java with/without J2EE or/and Kotlin

-
More than three years of professional experience in a software engineer or equivalent position.

Familiar with cloud-native technology and architecture.

Experience working on Distributed systems and microservices.

Fluent in English

As a Lead Full Stack Developer on our team, you will play a crucial role in creating and executing product strategies to ensure smooth and efficient customer journeys.

Goals

During your first three months, we expect you to settle in our team & the community and start taking over your role. Further down the road, approximately after six months, we’re eager to see you standing on your own (we’re here to have your back!). You will be expected to continually refine and test new tools, and engage in training, pairing, and mob programming.

Our tech department, in the nordics, comprises over 101 dedicated engineers overseeing all code and systems behind our recommerce solution. You should expect some travel to our other office locations in Oslo, Aahus, or Helsinki.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

30 min meeting with the Talent Acquisition Partner (your background, skills & growth goals, Schibsted as an employer)

60 min meeting with the hiring manager (diving deeper into your background & skills, role goals & expectations)

60 min technical interview with 2 colleagues (this interview is based on your pet project or the home assignment)


Please note: We're unable to provide relocation support. The role requires thrice weekly visits to our office in Stockholm, allowing for a balance of remote work.


The Blocket journey began in Skåne 1996 - since then the concept of Blocket has been exported to over 40 other countries. Today, Blocket, which is owned by the media group Schibsted, is Sweden’s largest online marketplace. There are approximately 600 000 items, vehicles, jobs and housing being advertised and discovered by its 5 million visitors every week. The value for all advertisements in 2018 amounted to SEK 714 billion - equal to 15 percent of Sweden’s GDP. Thanks to second-hand trading at Blocket, 0.8 million tonnes of greenhouse gases can be avoided every year. The output being equivalent to if Stockholm’s city roads stood empty for about a year. Blocket has approximately 240 colleagues and the office is located in central Stockholm. Together, we are passionate about second-hand trading, the environment and the continued growth of Blocket - one of Sweden’s largest sites.
