At IKEA of Sweden we are searching for future product engineers and product development engineers - people with the ambition to join us over the next 12 or 18 months.

The Roles
As a product engineer your role in the product development process is to take responsibility for making the product?s technical drawings, construction and product documentation. This assignment also includes deciding what tests the product should undergo before its technical specification is finalized. Our products are manufactured outside of IKEA of Sweden and sometimes by several different independent suppliers. You are the last link in the product development before the product is handed over to our trading organization. It is the product engineer?s responsibility to give the suppliers the very best conditions to do their part, by securing the quality of the product documentation package.

In the role as product development engineer you will actively search information and knowledge contributing to technical development and share this with product development team members. You are highly involved in defining the product development project as well as securing the right competence and resources from a technical perspective. The product development engineer is responsible overall for leading and making sure the technical development projects are carried through and delivered in time, and following up on the results. Delivery, leadership, management and motivation of people are a large focus of this role.

Is this your next challenge?

For both roles we are looking for those with a university degree as an Engineer and some years of experience within the technical field. You have experience in technical solutions, production and cost calculation. You have a good understanding of product development. As product development engineer you also need to have an interest and talent for leading people and manage projects. As a product engineer you have a passion for technique and the details of the product.

As a person you are able to take a stand in the important matters but you are also willing to challenge known patterns. You are a problem solver with great communication and convincing skills. You enjoy working in teams, have high precision in work and enjoy details. You thrive on change and for acting in a dynamic workplace.
IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
